Overview

Gedik Education and Social Aid Foundation (GEV) of which Gedik University is a part was established by Gedik Holding to contribute to both the education of the nation and also to the development of the welding technology in Turkey on September 7, 1994.

 

Gedik Education and Social Aid Foundation, has accepted all the activities and initiatives in these areas as public duty. In this framework, Gedik Education and Social Aid Foundation has performed many multi dimensional efforts in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, institutions of Higher Education and establishments of the private sector ever since it was established. Gedik Education and Social Aid Foundation has successfuly completed many projects such as schools, dormitories, vocational education centers and educational establishments which provide services for the handicapped. 

 

Republic of Turkey Gedik University was established by the decision of the Cabinet dated April 6, 2010 under the name of “Gedik Vocational School of Higher Education” and started offering five programmes. It was reorganized under the name of “Republic of Turkey Gedik University” by the Law number 6114 which went into effect on March 3, 2011. Five faculties, Vocational School of Higher Education with its 18 programmes and Foreign Languages School of Higher Education are part of this university.

 

Students/Instructor ratio in our university is approximately 13. In this regard, our university is amongst the public and private universities which have the highest number of instructors/student ratio throughout Turkey. Our academic staff which is made up of 69 people is providing education to 180 students who attend our faculties and 720 students who attend our vocational school of higher education during the 2011 – 2012 Academic Year.

Scholarships

BELOW IS THE GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS, INCLUDING TURKISH CANDIDATES. PLEASE CONTACT THE UNIVERSITY TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS.

 

Tuition fee can be paid in ten monthly installments with the first one being paid during registration provided that a loan contract which is in accordance with the procedures of a bank where the University has announced that the payments will be made has been signed.

 

There is a 10% discount for cash payment, 10% discount for government employees and their children, 10% discount for brothers/sisters and 10% discount for Gedik Holding employees and their children. National sportsmen and women receive 25% discount.

 

50% scholarship is given to students who rank in the top five thousand in the University Placement Exam, provided that they request Gedik University and gain admission as a paying student. 50% discount is offered to students who are the children of military service men or women or police officers who were killed or wounded on duty 50% for each program.

 

All the scholarships which we provide to our students aren’t required to be paid backand are not cut off for 4 years at faculties and 2 years at programs.

 

Scholarships are provided to students who demonstrate outstanding achievement based on the evaluation performed at the end of each academic year to go into effect in the following school year as per Republic of Turkey Gedik University Education Scholarship Directive. This is done to encourage the determination of our students to study and to reward them for their successes.
