The IT University of Copenhagen was established in 1999 as a free faculty at Copenhagen Business School. The free faculty was called IT-højskolen and the main goal was to increase the number of research-based IT study programmes in Denmark.
In connection with the University Act of July 2003 IT-højskolen became an independent university and changed name to the IT University of Copenhagen.
Mission
The mission of the IT University of Copenhagen is to deliver internationally leading teaching and research which enable Denmark to become exceptionally good at creating value with IT. Teaching and research in information technology include all academic activities which involve computers.
Vision
The IT University of Copenhagen is an outstanding example of how a small university by being innovative and globally interactive can achieve a ranking among the best in the world, both in terms of academic standards and in terms of creation of value.

Non-native speakers of English must pass the TOEFL with a score of 550 (on a paper-based test) / 213 (computer-based test) / 80 (Internet-based test) or the University of Cambridge IELTS with a score of 6.0, or provide equivalent documentation, or a CAE/CPE score of C. This requirement does not apply to students from the Nordic countries.
Annual tuition fees for full-degree students
USD 8,000-21,000 / Euro 6,000-16,000 (DKK 45,000-120,000).
