Overview

Fatih University was founded by Turkish Association of Health and Medical Treatment, in 1996. It carries out its educational and research activities on Büyükçekmece (İstanbul), Ostim and Gimat (Ankara) modern campuses.

 

New Approaches in Education 

Fatih University considers respect to human beings and the environment as a base in producing information. It foregrounds interdisciplinary approaches and critical thinking in the process of producing, accessing to and using knowledge. Education and research activities are shaped in the way that deals with universal values and scientific ethic rules in local frame, and aims at brining productive and innovative individuals up.

 

European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) 

Fatih University has made its credit transfer system compatible with European Credit Transfer System (ETCS). Courses are consisted of lecture, seminar and application, and for each course ECTS credits are assigned. An ECTS coordinator is designated for every department. The coordinator facilitates students for all ECTS related works. Detailed information can be accessed at http://erasmus.fatih.edu.tr.

Research-Development

 

In order to advance available information and R&D works, Fatih University supports research activities. Hence, many education and research laboratories have been set up. Our students can conduct projects with the faculty members in the fields they are interested in. Many organizations such as EU, TUBİTAK and DPO fund the projects to a great extend, and with “Project Bazaar” activities held every year, faculty members are encouraged to apply national and international donations. Technology Development Centre (TDC) was founded to improve University-Industry relationships, and coordinate research-development and sector-industry relationships.

 

Campuses

Laboratories for education, research and project developments are available at Büyükçekmece and Ostim campuses. Our modern facilities are qualified enough to meet social, cultural and sportive needs. In the fields of free study, wireless internet line was set up and “Smart Campus” card project was put into effect. Personnel and students of the university can access to Library off campus with the software designed for the infra structure of the library. University assigns an email address and FTP space for personal web sites.

 

Consultancy Support 

Fatih University students are provided with consultancy service in the fields of education, career and guidance. Students and graduates are given consultancy services in individual career, education abroad, business world, guidance and psychological consultancy. In addition, academic consultancy system has been developed in our university.
