Türk Hava Kurumu University

Ankara - Türkiye

Overview

Turkish Aeronautical Association, which aims to transfer the experience gained from the trainings in the field of aeronautics in its 86-year history to an academic basis, embarked upon the project of founding a university in 2010. Aeronautical sector has been growing rapidly in Turkey and in the world. In this regard, it was aimed to found the University of Turkish Aeronautical Association in order to meet the increasing demand for educated personnel; train people to become qualified staff equipped with high-end theoretic and practical knowledge; and promote the academic studies in aeronautics quantitatively and qualitatively. As a first step towards this goal, applications to certain offices (posts) were made in April 21, 2010 regarding the establishment of the “Aeronautical Foundation”. University of Turkish Aeronautical Association is the first university in Turkey having 4 campuses in 3 cities in Turkey. With its multi-campus environment, it is one of the few universities providing aeronautical practices such as mutual training flights.

Our great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk entrusted a mission on the development in the field of aeronautics the Turkish nation saying “The Future is in the Sky”. Adopting this mission as a principle, the University of Turkish Aeronautical Association, aware of the responsibility of being the first Turkish “university of aeronautics and space”, has been carrying on its preparations at full steam in the central campus in Ankara to start education in 2011-2012 period.
