English Requirements

  • Undergraduate applicants are required to achieve a minimum of IELTS 6 or equivalent.
  • Postgraduate applicants are required to achieve a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
  • Some academic departments may require a higher score.

Scholarships

Undergraduate Scholarships

We have a great scholarship provision for undergraduate students from Turkey.  All students starting in the faculties of Engineering, Science, Arts the School of Law and Social Science (including the Management School) will be entitled to a Faculty scholarship if successful in getting an offer.  The scholarships are worth £2000 for Social Sciences, Arts and Law and £2500 for Engineering and Science.

We also offer one Turkey Merit Undergraduate Scholarship, ten International Baccalaureate Scholarships and three AP Scholarships which are worth 50% of the tuition fee.  These scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit and an official application must be made.  You can apply for the scholarships once you have received an academic course offer from us.

Masters Scholarships

We are pleased to offer the Turkey Sheffield Scholarship to all Turkish students starting a Taught Masters programme.

The scholarships are £2,000 if your tuition fees are between £14,500 and £16,500 or £2,500 if your tuition fees are £16,501 and upwards (if you are a student of the MSc in Global Marketing Management, or any of our MSc Nanofolio courses jointly run with the University of Leeds please note your Scholarship will be £1,250).

Research Scholarships

The University of Sheffield invests heavily in the development of our postgraduate community. Students who wish to undertake postgraduate study in any Faculty of the University can apply for the annual University Prize and Faculty Scholarship competitions. We also offer a range of unique funding opportunities through donations from benefactors and our close relationships with other universities and organisations.
