Success happens here. Founded in 1899, Mount Ida College is a small, private college in Newton, Massachusetts, just minutes from Boston. Mount Ida provides career-focused programs built upon a strong foundation in the social sciences, humanities and the arts, all developed and implemented to prepare our students for success in their chosen fields of endeavor.

With a tight-knit, inclusive community, a diverse student body, winning NCAA Division III sports teams, a beautiful and safe suburban campus and a vibrant school spirit, Mount Ida is the place where students become the best version of themselves.

We offer accredited, distinctive college degree programs with a strong career focus, taught by faculty members with real-world experience in a variety of professions and industries. Our professors truly are attentive to the academic and career success of our students and graduates. Our comprehensive program of internships and practicums provides students with the opportunity to apply their learning in true work settings and to help determine their areas of interest for future employment.

In addition to academic quality and career-focused degree options, we are also putting time and energy into campus improvements that enhance the robust college experience Mount Ida offers to our students.

Our campus renovation and construction projects are focused on creating more comfortable and functional living and learning spaces for our residential and commuter students, upgrading campus amenities and renewing our historic buildings for a new age:

·         New campus center and dining facilities

·         Reconstruction of Malloy Hall – our school’s largest residence hall

·         New student fitness center, added to the existing Athletic Center

·         New Alumni Stadium with all-season turf

·         Expansion of key academic facilities, including the Dental Education Center & Community Dental Clinic

·         Restoration of 100-year-old Shaw Hall as the campus centerpiece

Over the course of the School’s 113 years, Mount Ida College has changed to meet the needs of our students, jobs and the economy, but our core values and the College’s purpose have remained constant: preparation for careers, life, and being the best version of yourself.

Come see our beautiful suburban campus, tight-knit community, and winning Mustang sports teams. Be part of our journey.
